Leadership Development

CAPA CEF is kicking off a new project in Leadership Development in 2006. The vision is to promote civic engagement and the development of future leaders for the Asian community in the Northern California Bay Area. The mission is to design a special curriculum that consists of training workshops to develop leadership skills and a practicum that puts the skills to practice. The curriculum will also address issues unique to the Asian community.

The project has two programs targeting two different groups: The Youth Leadership Development (YLD) aims at educating young adults who are about to enter the real world. They include high school students or recent high school graduates. The Executive Leadership Development (ELD) aims at educating professionals who are already in the workforce. They are already on the path of career growth and needs support to hone in their leadership skills. Both programs will be designed and conducted by professional trainers. The trainers are selected among those that demonstrated strong experience in developing interpersonal skills. The trainers are also approved by the CAPA CEF board members.
