The 2008 Summer Internship Program is no longer accepting applications. Please check back in Jaunary 2009.

The CAPA CEF Internship Program is a unique opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge of our democratic process by working directly in the office of an elected official or government department/agency in the East Bay and San Francisco area.

The program is open to Asian American students who will be high school seniors or college students in Fall 2008, and must be a resident of Contra Costa, Alameda, or San Francisco Counties in California.

Each intern is required to fulfill 100 working hours in their office placement, along with 20 additional community service hours. Each intern will also collaborate with fellow interns to make a presentation at our gala, held annually to support our programs, including the Internship Program.

Internship placements are available at local, county, state, and federal levels and with elected officials of both political parties. A stipend will be provided to all interns who successfully complete the program.

No previous experience is required, but we do require all interns to have a desire to learn more about our government, the democratic process, current events, and community service.

For more information, please contact Cedric at internship@capacommunity.org or 925-216-9880.
