Highlights: Gala 2007

"Entertaining." "The interns are awesome." "Imaginative." "She's so inspirational. At 14 !" "Jeopardy was funny, and I even learned some new things about CAPA and Education Fund, after all these years." "Now we know what SCOTUS is." "We enjoyed watching the interns' skit."

Those are some of the remarks that I heard either directly, or repeated to me upon the conclusion of the "Sweet 16" Gala. Warm words, sincere words from friends and new acquaintances alike. We certainly felt good about tonight.

But, first things first. Our heartfelt gratitude and thanks goes to you, our supporters. Without your generosity with your time, enthusiasm (and your checkbook), all our grand plans and scurrying would have been in vain. It is your unqualified support that truly enables us to function.

Finally, "Sweet 16 " couldn't have happened without the quiet and dogged dedication of the Gala Committee, namely Cedric Cheng, Seechung Lee, Doreen Lew and Cheng Liao. Moreover, the supporting cast of the other Board members and families came through with flying colors during the many months leading up to the Gala. This endeavor has always been a group effort, and I am extremely fortunate to have worked with such a committed group.

We look forward to seeing you again at the 2008 Gala!
