March 2006
Introducing Leadership Development

Jonathan Wen Hsu leaves not only a legacy of a successful CAPA Ed Fund and continued improvement of our internship program under Cindy Chin, but also the kickoff of the Leadership Development Program in March and April. The purpose of this newly established program is to promote civic engagement and the development of future leaders for the Asian American community in the Northern California Bay Area. This specially designed curriculum consists of training workshops to develop leadership skills and a practicum that puts those skills to practice.

The project has two programs targeting two different groups: The Youth Leadership Development (YLD) aims at educating young adults who are about to enter the real world. Participants range from high school students to college graduates.

The Executive Leadership Development (ELD) aims at educating professionals who are already in the workforce. These individuals are already on the path of career growth and looking to refine their leadership skills.

Both programs are designed and conducted by professional trainers. The trainers are selected among those that demonstrated strong experience in developing interpersonal skills. Keep an eye out for details on this exciting new program!

Jonathan Wen Hsu is a former CAPA Community Education Fund Chair. For more information regarding the Leadership Development Program, please contact Jonathan Wen Hsu at leadership@CAPAcommunity.org.
