Wen L. Hsu is a Past President of CAPA and Past Chair of
the CAPA Community Education Fund (CEF). He has served on the boards
of CAPA and CAPA CEF since 2000. He has been instrumental in organizing
the Bay Area Leadership Forum in 2002 that brought together all
the Asian American community leaders to identify common goals and
interests. Wen very much enjoys working with youths and supporting
the Summer Youth Internship program. In the past two years, he has
been actively working on starting a leadership program for both
youths and mid-career professionals. Wen received his Bachelor of
Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic
Institute in 1976 and earned his M.S. and Ph.D. in Astrophysical
Sciences in 1978 and 1981, respectively from Princeton University.
He was recently recognized by the Chinese Institute of Engineers
– USA as one of the recipients of the 2007 Asian American
Engineer of the Year Award. He is a manager in research and development
at Sandia National Laboratories, Livermore CA. Wen is married to

Evelyn Lin has recently
completed studies to be a consultant assisting clients in areas
of personal goals, leadership training and advising on life’s
choices and relationships. Prior to becoming a consultant or life

organizations such as CAPA and DVCCA as well as an active member
in her church. She is married to current CAPA and CAPA Community
Education Fund boardmember Stephen Lin and both reside in Lafayette

from an eagerness to contribute to the well-being of community as
well as being active as an Asian American woman in the public affairs
arena.
Hugh Wang, M.D., a retired
Concord physician, established the paramedic system for Contra Costa
County. He has served as president for CAPA and wrote a medical
column for the Contra Costa Times 27 years ago. He believes that
if the Chinese-American community does not have a strong organization
as its advocate, others will make the rules by which we live without
our influence.
Joel
Wong is a retired Scientist/Engineer from the Lawrence Livermore
National Laboratory. He was deeply affected by the rush to judgment
and the lack of due process when Wen Ho Lee, a fellow National Laboratory
employee was accused of spying. Joel believes that Asian Americans
should be more active in community services, participate in the political
process and, demand equal justice and treatment for all Americans.
Joel joined CAPA in 1997 and has served as its President for three
terms.
